Abstract:

The paper presents trends in morbidity and mortality due to breast cancer (BC) and the state of its care in the female population of the republic over 20 years. The main indicators of breast cancer are comparatively analyzed in the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, the North Caucasian Federal District, and the Russian Federation as a whole. There are high morbidity and mortality rates, low rates for the active and early (I—II stage) detection of the disease, a high neglect rate, and a small percentage of those who have been registered at a dispensary for 5 years or more. The screening of population groups at risk for breast cancer and precancerous lesions is recommended to improve diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with breast cancer in the republic.
