The efficiency of incorporating reamberin into a combination therapy regimen was evaluated in patients with breast cancer for the prevention of metabolic disorders. A prospective randomized study was performed in 68 with breast cancer patients who received 6 adjuvant polychemotherapy cycles using the FAC regimen. In a control group, basic infusion therapy involved Ringer’s solution 1200 ml/day for 3 days after each polychemotherapy cycle. In a study group, infusion therapy encompassed reamberin 800 ml/day and Ringer’s solution 400 ml/day. Carbohydrate and protein metabolic disturbances and progressive lipid peroxidation, which occurred during adjuvant chemotherapy, were found to persist within 3 months after its completion and further served as the basis for the development of metabolic syndrome and diabetes mellitus. Incorporation of reamberin into a combination therapy regimen for breast cancer contributes to the maintenance of compensated metabolic disorders.
