Abstract:

The paper considers a rare clinical case of successful surgical treatment in a young female patient with extensive locally advanced retroperitoneal leiomyosarcoma prolapsing into the mediastinum and involving the esophagus, stomach, great vessels, both lungs, and pericardium into the process. It gives clinical and morphological findings of the disease, the results of surgical treatment, and prognostic factors in patients with retroperitoneal leiomyosarcomas.
