Abstract:

This investigation comparatively analyzed the results of complex treatment with or without surgery in patients with generalized breast cancer. Complex palliative care involving drug and radiation therapies was performed in 2 patient groups: 1) 124 patients who underwent surgical intervention as complex treatment; 2) 72 patients who received drug therapy only. Examination of treatment results showed that in the intervention group three- and five-year survival rates were 36 and 28.3% higher, respectively; and the median survival was 11 months longer.
