Abstract:

The immediate and late results of treatment were analyzed in 108 patients with malignant non-organ retroperitoneal tumors. Radiotherapy following radical surgery for tumors significantly improved 5-year relapse-free survival up to 54.5% versus 34.1% after surgery only. A differentiated approach to treating different types of malignant non-organ retroperitoneal tumors was elaborated on the basis of a disease progression rating scale, which provides the means of soundly incorporating adjuvant radiotherapy into the treatment regimen for patients with a poor prognosis.
