OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the safety and effectiveness of correcting age-related facial skin changes with a hyaluronic acid product using long-term ultrasound monitoring according to the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) over 15 months.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

Thirty females aged 25 to 45 years were followed up and divided into two groups by simple randomization. Group 1 patients received supraperiostal injections of 1.2 mL of hyaluronic acid according to the label. Group 2 patients received subdermal injections of 1.2 mL of hyaluronic acid according to the label. Method efficacy was assessed by GAIS at months 1, 5, 10, and 15 during the study. The drug safety was evaluated for 15 months by follow-up and control using high-frequency ultrasound diagnostic methods.

RESULTS

Clinical and instrumental data confirmed the safety and efficacy of the hyaluronic acid product for correcting age-related facial skin changes.
