Abstract:

Various dermatoses of the perianal region are considered including contact dermatitis, toxicoderma, anal-genital herpes, anal-genital warts, bovenoid papulosis, streptococcal perianal dermatitis, erythrasma, tuberculosis, actinomycosis, and candidiasis. The authors discuss the structural features of the perianal skin. The first part of the review provides a detailed description of perianal dermatitis, viral, bacterial and fungal diseases to simplify the differential diagnosis. The surgeon and the dermatovenerologist must necessarily work together to achieve the best result in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with this pathology. The review is clearly illustrated with clinical examples of various dermatoses in the perianal area from the personal practice of the authors. The application of local glucocorticosteroids is discussed — in some situations, it is justified and necessary. Preference is given to the use of non-fluorinated glucocorticosteroids for the shortest possible course. In case of secondary infection, it is rational to use the combined topical drugs.
