Objective — to study the safety, tolerability and efficacy of botulinum toxin A in patients with mimic wrinkles and blepharospasm. Material and methods. Informed consent to participate in a double-blind comparative randomized study was signed by 140 patients with mimic wrinkles and 60 patients with blepharospasm. The age of patients ranged from 18 to 65 years. Patients were randomized into the experimental and control groups of 100 people. Participants of the 1st group were administered the study drug (a new liquid botulinum toxin type A drug), participants of the 2nd group were administered the comparator (botulinum toxin type A, lyophilisate for the solution for intramuscular injection) in therapeutic doses. Duration of observation of patients was 120 days, 199 participants completed the study in accordance with the Study Protocol. Results. Evaluation of the efficacy of the use of drugs in participants with mimic wrinkles on the FWS facial wrinkle scale and an assessment by the participants themselves showed a significantly faster effect of the new drug in the case of horizontal mimic wrinkles — 30 days vs. 60 days in the comparator, as well as in other cases. With blepharospasm, both drugs showed comparable efficacy with good tolerance and a high safety profile. The data obtained indicate the possibility of using a new liquid botulinum toxin type A drug according to the studied indications.
