Abstract:

Hidradenitis suppurativa is a chronic long-lasting disease with advanced clinical manifestations and cicatricial deformities affecting quality of life. The problem of hidradenitis suppurativa is still not resolved and remains relevant. Interest to this question is high among national and foreign experts. Different approaches to primary etiological factor result certain differences in results of researches. Some authors emphasize essential role of concomitant bacterial microflora considering its presence at various levels and localizations of pathological process and species diversity (16 species and subspecies of microorganisms). Other researchers consider this aspect as less significant. Comorbidities including metabolic syndrome, obesity, smoking, bowel disease are important in the development and progression of hidradenitis suppurativa. There are generic cases of disease. Statistical data about prevalence are also different. There is no reliable information about prevalence of hidradenitis suppurativa in the Russian Federation. The problem of timely diagnosis and adequate therapy is still relevant. All these aspects confirm that the problem of hidradenitis suppurativa is very advisable for further research. This part of review is devoted to modern information about etiological factors, pathogenetic mechanisms, prevalence and clinical systematics of hidradenitis suppurativa.
