Abstract:

Various forms of eczema may be complicated by secondary infection. We described detection of S. aureus, Str. faecalis, Str. pyogenes, Candida. The literature provides the results of numerous studies of eczema in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM). It was shown that allergic diseases are quite common in patients ages 4 to 18 years with type 1 diabetes mellitus (DM1). Pathological vascular changes and immune status disorders may lead to development of eczema in DM2 patients. The article describes a case of chronic eczema in a female patient suffering from DM2 and other severe comorbidities. This case is interesting because of detection of Klebsiella spp. in chronic eczema lesions. Various pathological conditions were discussed, when Klebsiella was detected. It was suggested that Klebsiella spp. infection can significantly complicate therapy of chronic eczema in DM patients.
