This article presents brief information on the epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical aspects and treatment of acne. The authors pay attention to administration of combined therapy, including choice of suitable skin care products. Avène product line produced by French pharmaceutical company Pierre Fabre is considered to be special medical cosmetics for problematic skin care, i.e. acne-prone skin (Cleanance product line, including Cleanance gel, Cleanance K cream and Triaknel). The study involved 60 patients with acne (15 males and 45 females) aged 18 to 27 years. Evaluation of the efficacy of the medical cosmetic line was performed before treatment, one month after initiation of therapy, and after termination of therapy using the corneometric parameters (moisture, fat content, and pH) of the skin and dermatological index of quality of life. Application of special skin care products selected with allowance for specific features of the skin in complex treatment of acne resulted in clinical cure and improved visual appearance of patients, as well as their quality of life. According to the authors, the use of medical cosmetics is an integral part of the treatment process, significantly improving the efficacy and tolerability of the conducted primary therapy.
