Abstract:

Multiple studies are currently devoted to silent myocardial ischemia. Concomitant coronary artery disease in patients with atherosclerosis of the lower limb arteries an important unfavorable predictor of perioperative cardiac complications. Moreover, the incidence of complications including myocardial infarction, sudden cardiac death and unstable angina pectoris in patients with silent myocardial ischemia is much higher compared to those with symptomatic coronary artery disease. Accurate identification of this disease in patients with chronic lower limb ischemia is essential to determine surgical strategy and reduce the risk of complications and mortality.
