Abstract:

Abstract Aim — to study long-term results of off-pump and on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Material and methods. There were 183 CAD patients aged 60.2±4.7 years who underwent on-pump (n=107) and off-pump (n=76) CABG. Comprehensive clinical examination was performed after 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, 36 months. Follow-up period was 37.9±6 months. Results. In case of 1- and 2-vessel coronary lesion, long-term survival was similar in both groups (93.3% vs. 93.5% after on-pump and off-pump surgery, respectively). Freedom from redo revascularization was 97.8 and 93.5%, respectively. Long-term survival was similar in patients with left main coronary artery stenosis and/or multiple-vessel lesion (95.3 vs. 93.0%, respectively), freedom from redo myocardial revascularization — 95.0% vs. 90.7%, respectively. Conclusion. In our study 3-year mortality, incidence of non-fatal stroke, non-fatal myocardial infarction and recurrent revascularization were similar after off-pump and on-pump CABG.
