Abstract:

Current surgical techniques for acute aortic dissection type A are reviewed. Supracoronary ascending aortic replacement and Bentall—De Bono procedure are the most reliable and safe interventions despite advanced number of valve-sparing operations. Hemiarch procedure also competes for the reliability, safety and long-term results with total aortic arch replacement. Development of hybrid technologies is followed by choice of surgical approach depending on severity of patients’ state, localization of proximal and distal fenestrations, spread of aortic dissection, tissue dysplasia grade and surgeon’s preferences and experience.
