Abstract:

It was studied the frequency of postoperative delirium and prognostic factors for its occurrence in cardiac patients. 268 patients of different age after cardiac surgery were included in the study. Postoperative delirium was diagnosed in 77 (28.7%) patients. Delirium with psychomotor agitation has prevailed without prior dementia. It was revealed a corresponding set of the most significant predictors of postoperative delirium in patients with different amounts of surgery. Knowledge of these factors allows to optimize physical or pharmacological neuroprotection strategies in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
