Interaction within multidisciplinary cardiac team. How to increase efficiency

OBJECTIVE

To study the interaction between various specialists of multidisciplinary cardiac team, to identify the factors reducing its effectiveness and to optimize this interaction.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A multi-stage study implied follow-up of interaction between various specialists of multidisciplinary cardiac team, timing of individual components of this process, survey of surgeons with analysis of the main factors complicating multidisciplinary interaction and development of events to optimize this process.

RESULTS

A comprehensive analysis of stages and timing of multidisciplinary interaction, as well as survey data made it possible to identify the main factors complicating this interaction. These data made possible to develop an innovative concept of a single cardiac surgical multidisciplinary team (one team for patient).

CONCLUSION

A multidisciplinary approach should underlie personalized medicine and maximally satisfy the individual needs of patients in healthcare system. At the same time, introduction of new work formats requires new organizational approaches. The events developed in accordance with the concept of a single cardiac multidisciplinary team are scientifically based. These measures will facilitate interaction between various specialists in cardiac surgery.
