Abstract:

The prognostic value of 4 nutrution status scales were comparatively assessed, considering negative results after cardiac surgery with artificial blood circulation. 441 patients with acquired heart diseases were included in the prospective study. The MUST scale proved to be the most sensitive for nutritive deficiency. The MUST and MNA scales allowed to predict postoperative complications. The SNAQ and NRS-2002 scales showed poor results in patients with acquired heart diseases. All analyzed scales demonstrated insufficient sensitivity in predicting postoperative complications.
