A summary of major international events for endoscopy conducted in June 26—29, 2019 under the auspices of the Russian Endoscopy Society and the Japanese Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society in Yaroslavl is reported in the article. This event brought together the 21st Russian-Japanese Endoscopic Symposium and the 19th International Conference with Video Broadcasting of Endoscopic Operations “Standards and Innovative Technologies in Digestive Endoscopy” (Yaroslavl Endoscopy Symposium — YES 2019) on the one platform. The main idea of the congress is introduction of standards and new minimally invasive endoscopic technologies into national health care. The congress was attended by leading Russian, Japanese and European experts for endoscopy and gastroenterology. The experts held unique master classes, performed difficult free minimally invasive surgeries in 26 patients, demonstrated standard and innovative approaches in routine and high-tech interventions. For the first time, a sports event (a run under the auspices of the Russian Endoscopy Society «Together Against Colorectal Cancer») was organized within the congress. Moreover, there were various unique educational events in new formats including theater of Russian Endoscopy Society and frank conversations with leading national and foreign experts about relevant issues of effective and safe colonoscopy and microbiome. Traditional colonoscopy championship this year was also held in a new competition format using two innovative Simbionix simulators. The conference was ended by educational sessions for endoscopists, pediatricians, gastroenterologists and nurses on the most relevant issues.
