At present, the problem of analgesia of delivery and labor is an important aspect of obstetrics which has a significant impact on the process, quality, outcome and cost of medical support of childbirth. From these pont of view, the effectiveness and safety of anesthetic management during the delivery is one of the most urgent problems. It is based on adequate analgesia and its good manageability, lack of influence on the labor itself, and lack of adverse effects on the mother and fetus. Neuroaxial methods are the most flexible and effective methods that have the least depressing effect on the central nervous system of the fetus and newborn (ASA and ACOG) among pharmacological methods of labor anesthesia used at present. The purpose of these clinical guidelines is to summarize current data on neuroaxial methods of labor analgesia: they include recommendations for the diagnosis of pain intensity during labor, the choice of neuroaxial analgesia and local anesthetic, and characteristic of its implementation, as well as prevention of anesthesiological complications in labor.
