OBJECTIVE

Identification of differential diagnostic criteria of arterial hypertension (AH) as a manifestation of an independent disease and AH as a manifestation of anxiety disorders (AD), as well as their combination, in order to choose a rational treatment strategy.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

149 patients were observed. Group 1 included 50 patients (27 women and 23 men) with AH and various TR, group 2 included 42 patients (25 women and 17 men) with AH without TR, and group 3 included 57 patients (33 women and 24 men) with TR without AH. The examination included 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, 24-hour Holter ECG monitoring, spiroarteriocardiorhythmography, and assessment of heart rate variability.

RESULTS

The differences in the age of patients between the groups indicate that patients consulted psychiatrists later. In accordance with the data obtained, it was found that anxiety significantly contributes to the increase in targeted indicators at night. The presence of anxiety led to the formation of abnormal daily curves. The analysis of heart rate variability revealed a higher average heart rate per day in patients with TR, both isolated and in combination with AH. Several indicators of HRV were elevated, indicating an increase in sympathetic tone in patients with TR.

CONCLUSION

The obtained data can be useful in the differential diagnosis of AH and TR and the choice of optimal therapy.
