Infertility rates are increasing year to year, which is a common, worldwide concern. The widespread use of assisted reproductive technology (ART) has helped many women to solve their infertility problems. Studies have confirmed that 2/3 of embryo transfer (ET) failures are due to low endometrial receptivity (ER). Therefore, improving ER is a key to the successful treatment of infertility and an increase in the IVF-ET pregnancy rate. Adequate pregravid preparation helps to increase the efficacy of IVF and reduce the number of perinatal complications. This review of the literature focuses on the pathogenetic rationale for the use of pregravid preparation before embryo transfer in IVF programs.
