Objective — to assess the long-term results of organ-sparing treatment using gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists as a component of postoperative therapy in reproductive-aged patients with uterine myoma. Subject and methods. In the period 2002 to 2013, a total of 179 patients with uterine myoma underwent organ-sparing surgery using different approaches. The long-term results of myomectomy were analyzed in 98 patients. After organ-sparing surgery, 66 (67.3%) patients received 4—6-month hormone therapy with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists to prevent disease recurrences. Results. Myomectomy is one of the most common reconstructive and plastic surgery that can preserve reproductive function in the vast majority of patients with uterine myoma. The use of gonadotropin-realizing hormone agonists within 4—6 months after myomectomy has a significant impact on recovery of reproductive function. Conclusion. The first 12 months after organ-sparing surgery and further hormone correction are the most favorable for conception and gestation. The authors declare no conflicts of interest.
