Abstract:

Hyperandrogenism is responsible for a diversity of its clinical manifestations in women, which varies from acne and hirsutism to explicit virilization and reproductive dysfunction. Despite the fact that there is a great deal of different agents used to treat hyperandrogenism, after their discontinuation a clinical recurrence occurs in the majority of women. Oral contraceptives containing a combination of ethinylestradiol and chlormadinone acetate are an effective agent for the long-term therapy of hyperandrogenism.
