The literature review generalizes the data of recent studies of the etiology and pathogenesis of the formation of an inconsistent uterine scar. Postpartum endometritis is emphasized to be a main cause of inadequate uterine scar formation after cesarean section. Particular attention is given to the specific features of the diagnosis of an inconsistent uterine suture (scar). Surgical treatment options are presented for complicated purulent endomyometritis, which are aimed at preserving the uterus and improving the reproductive prognosis in patients with severe pyoseptic diseases after abdominal delivery.
