Trials were conducted to study the efficacy and safety of vaginal clindacin suppositories (OAO "Akrikhin", Russia) used to treat 30 pregnant women with bacterial vaginosis (BV) in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy during a course of therapy with oral eubiotics. A control group included 20 healthy pregnant women. A month after the treatment performed, there were considerable clinical and laboratory improvements: a microscopic study of the vaginal contents showed a preponderance of epithelial cells with Doderlein bacilli being increased up to 79%, as well as reduced leukocytes, and mainly grade I-II vaginal flora. The good tolerability and high efficiency of therapy with vaginal clindacin suppositories in combination with eubiotics enable this regimen to be recommended for the treatment of pregnant women with BV in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy.
