Abstract:

Sexually transmitted infection plays a large role in the development of placental insufficiency. It induces autoimmune processes and a depressed immune response. This diminishes the resistance of the fetoplacental complex to infectious agents. The interferon system plays an important role in the body's anti-infectious and antiviral protection. The genetic engineering α2-interferon agent Viferon that has interferon- and immune-modulatory effects is the drug of choice for interferon-modulatory therapy in pregnant women. Viferon usage regimens have been developed for pregnant women.
