Nowadays, the restoration problem of the upper and lower jaws bone tissue is relevant, which is associated with a high detection level of pronounced atrophic processes of the alveolar bone after tooth loss. At the same time, despite the widespread research methods of bone tissue reconstruction using bone substitutes and barrier membranes in dental implantation, the use of autogenic bone tissue remains the “gold” clinical standard for reconstructive interventions. In modern medicine, minimally invasive surgical interventions are of great practical importance, which, by minimizing surgical access, can preserve the integrity of the periosteum. The above determines the relevance of conducting further research on optimizing the tools and methods used in preparation for dental implantation.
RESEARCH PURPOSE
Is to improve the treatment efficiency of patients with edentia and pronounced atrophy of alveolar processes at surgical stage of preparation for dental implantation by soft tissues protector-retractor device for surgical straight tip handpiece development for dental implantation.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
The article presents data on the use of the developed soft tissue protector-retractor device for a surgical straight handpiece during when conducting osteotomy, bone autograft sampling, creation of a lateral window to create access to the maxillary sinus and reduction of the crest of the alveolar process of the lower and upper jaws. The work is based on the results of a four-year observation of the developed device use in 184 clinical cases, where the age limit was 31—65 years old. Statistical processing was carried out by determining the mean square error and the average value in the Microsoft Excel program (2017). The obtained results are grouped taking into account the variability of indicators and features.
RESULTS
The combination of features of the developed protector-retractor device ensures minimally invasive and safe operation, as well as effective performance of surgical interventions when preparing conditions for the integration of dental implants in bone tissue.
CONCLUSION
Compared to existing plastic devices, this device features a thin metal base that provides better visualization of the surgical field due to its smaller size, increasing efficiency and enhancing the safety of surgical procedures.
