Introduction. Unsatisfactory treatment results for skin tumors of the outer nose are an important social problem. Since the nose is the central and most visible part of the face, even minor defects in this area are very painfully perceived by patients. The social significance of the location of skin tumors in the face area is prevalent when choosing a treatment method. Radiation therapy, cryodestruction and laser excision of malignant skin tumors allow to achieve equally favorable results in I — II stages of the process. However, with these treatments, the rate of recurrence of tumors is quite high. More often than not, the reason for recurrence is that the tumour is not sufficiently excised due to the desire to replace the defect with local tissues in a single step. The more radical and earlier the treatment is, the less likely it is to relapse. Objective of the study — to improve oncological and functional results of surgical treatment of neoplasms of the outer nose. Material and methods. The results of surgical treatment of malignant tumors of the skin of the nose in 93 patients, including 45 men and 48 women were analyzed. The operation consisted in a wide dissection of the neoplasm with a one-stage closure of the defect with the help of some kind of plastic. The average age of patients was 70.5 years. According to the histological structure, 62 patients had basal cellular nasal cancer, 21 patients had flat cell cancer, 5 patients had metaphysical cancer, 4 patients had melanoma, and 1 patient had ganglioneyroblastoma. The distribution of patients by TNM system was as follows: T1 — 50 patients; T2 — 29; T3 — 3; T4 — 11. The reconstruction of the outer nose defects by different types of scraps was used. Results. The healing of wounds by primary tension was observed in 75 out of 93 patients, which was 80.6%. Complicated wound healing was observed in 18 patients (19.4%): trophic disorders — in 3 patients (3.2%), suppuration of the postoperative wound — in 4 (4.3%); partial necrosis of the flap — in 11 (11.8%). Conclusion: The proposed new method of external nose plasty ensures successful healing of the postoperative wound and a good cosmetic result.
