Objective: to analyze the frequency, causes, and types of rhinological complications of sinus lift. Material and methods. The case histories of 53 patients (23 men and 30 women) aged 27—73 years who had undergone implant treatment using sinus lift methods for lack of maxillary molars and premolars. The results of a total of 62 surgeries were analyzed. Results. Open sinus lift was accompanied by intraoperative sinus mucosal perforations and ruptures (15.8%), bleeding (1.8%), and purulent sinusitis in the early postoperative period (3.5%), which in turn resulted in bone graft material migration and resorption (5.3%), peri-implantitis, and dental implant migration (1.8%). Conclusion. The main causes of sinus lift complications are limitations of a patient examination and/or a surgeon’s technical errors during surgery. The predisposing factors include sinus mucosal atrophic changes or scarring after transoral surgery on the sinus.
