Healthy young adults, who do not belong to the risk groups, are not on the list of persons to be compulsory vaccinated against influenza, but they can also have severe forms of this respiratory infection.

OBJECTIVE

By describing the severe influenza in a young unvaccinated healthy woman, to draw the attention of specialists to development of organizational approaches for influenza vaccinal prevention in this population group.

CASE REPORT

After three days of mild illness, a healthy unvaccinated against influenza 30-year-old woman developed a severe form of influenza with respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis. Seeking medical care 24 hours after the onset of progressive deterioration of her condition and professional actions of the doctors saved her life. Recovery after discharge from the hospital due to lung damage and other manifestations took at least half a year.

CONCLUSION

Such cases and data from other publications indicate the need for prevention of severe influenza in patients not referring to the established risk groups.
