Telemedicine technologies are one of the priority areas for the development of medicine today. It is necessary to conduct a comprehensive analysis in order to improve the provision of care using telemedicine technologies, including in psychiatry and narcology.
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
Evaluate the effectiveness of consultations using telemedicine technologies in psychiatry and narcology, as well as analyze the opinion of specialists working in the field of mental health regarding such consultations.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The study presents an analysis of the work of a telemedicine consulting center based on the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Bekhterev National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Neurology» of the Ministry of Health of Russia, which provides telemedicine consultations in the profiles «psychiatry» and «psychiatry-narcology» to patients — residents of the North-Western, Southern, Volga and North Caucasian federal districts, for the period from 2018 to December 2020. In addition, with the help of A specially designed questionnaire assessed the opinion of specialists on the effectiveness and expediency of using telemedicine technologies in psychiatry and narcology in comparison for 2 years — 2019 and 2021.
RESULTS
For the period from 2018 to December 2020, the specialists of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Bekhterev National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Neurology» of the Russian Ministry of Health held a total of 802 consultations using telemedicine technologies. An increase in demand for consultations with the use of telemedicine technologies in the profiles of «psychiatry» and «psychiatry-narcology» has been established. Based on the structure of diagnoses established by consulting physicians in 2020, it can be noted that consultations for diseases from the ICD-10 headings F10—F19 «Mental and behavioral disorders associated with the use of psychoactive substances» (34.9%) and F20—F29 Schizophrenia, schizotypal and delusional disorders (27.2%) are most in demand.
CONCLUSION
An increase in the need for attending physicians from regional services in telemedicine consultations has been established. In addition, according to the opinion of attending physicians, there is an increase in the effectiveness of telemedicine consultations in psychiatry and narcology, as well as an increase in the level of confidence of specialists in such consultations.
