Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a new global challenge, leading to substantial socioeconomic and demographic losses. To reduce these losses, there is a need for effective legislative, normative legal, informative, and educational measures to prevent NCDs. The joint activities of health care services for early diagnosis of NCDs and their risk factors, effective treatment will cause a decrease in premature (preventable) deaths from these diseases. The exchange of experience in creating conditions for the effective prevention of NCDs and for the reduction of their birden will require expert and professional support by the WHO.
