Abstract:

This review analyzed a literature database including systematic reviews and randomized clinical trials on surgical methods for treating endometrioid cysts in order to preserve the ovarian reserve. Publish, medline, crossref databases were published in the interval 2016—2020. It was shown that during surgical treatment of endometriomas, a decrease in the ovarian reserve of the operated ovary occurs due to the removal of healthy tissue, as well as due to thermal damage to normal follicles during electrical hemostasis. The biggest problem in surgical treatment of endometriomas is to ensure complete removal of the cyst and reduce the risk of relapse while maximally preserving the ovarian reserve. In modern surgery, methods of dissecting tissues and stopping bleeding using effective energies are widely used. Despite the many publications on the importance of organ-preserving operations in patients with benign ovarian formations, studies affecting the impact of surgical treatment, taking into account the depth of exposure, are not numerous and contradictory.
