The aim of the study was to evaluate the role of prolactin and dopamine in pathogenesis of genital endometriosis (GE). Material and methods. 47 patients aged from 23 to 42 years were examined. The main group consisted of 35 patients with histologically confirmed GE of I—III degrees according to R-AFS classification. Control group included 12 women without gynecological pathology according to data, received during laparoscopic surgery. Prolactin receptors (RPRL) and dopamine receptors D2(DRD2) were determined in endometrium, in endometrioid heterotopies and on peritoneum of all the patients. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of immunohistochemistry results was performed using digital microscopy and morphometry. Levels of prolactin (PRL) in peripheral blood (PB) and peritoneal fluid were determined by immunochemiluminescent method. Statistica10 program was used for data processing. Results. Endometrioid heterotopy is characterized by increased expression of RPRL, as well as decreased expression of DRD2. There was a negative correlation between expression of DRD2 in endometrioid heterotopy and level of PRL in PB, which indicates increase in angiogenesis and contributes to progression of the disease. Conclusion. Enhanced neoangiogenesis and reduced dopaminergic regulation pathogenetically justify the use of dopamine agonists as potential group of drugs for treatment of endometriosis.
