Estradiol supplementations in ART are firmly established and there are no questions about the legitimacy of their use. Luteal phase support, and artificial preparation of the endometrium in frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) treatment cycles, egg donation and surrogate programs cannot be imagined without prescribing estradiol supplementation. Most stimulation protocols for assisted reproductive technology result in a defective luteal phase. In this article, we consider the biological effects and features of the metabolism of estradiol depending on the route of administration. We have analyzed the systematic reviews and meta-analyzes that have been published in the last 5 years, considering options for prescribing estradiol preparations in ART programs. The available data in the literature indicate the advantage of the transdermal route of administration of the drug estradiol. In the clinical example, we will also show the efficacy of the transdermal form of Estragel in a patient with a «thin» endometrium in the GnRH antagonists protocol. The article discusses the use of estradiol supplementations in ART programs in different regimes. The available evidence indicates that transdermal 17β-oestradiol (Estrogel) has the most favourable in ART.
