Objective. To examine ovarian reserve after experimental salpingectomy and hysterectomy. Material and methods. 48 mature female rats were divided into four groups: I — salpingectomy with hysterectomy (n=24); II — hysterectomy (n=6); III — salpingectomy (n=6); 12 intact animals as a control group. Histological examination of serial ovarian section using hematoxylin and eosin stain, van Gieson stain, morphoquantitative analysis, enzyme-linked immonosorbent assay of the serum concentration antimullerian hormone (AMH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) were performed. Results. Preventive salpingectomy was shown to decrease serum AMH concentration in all groups (p=0,004) and to increase FSH concentration by the 40th day of the experiment (p=0,011). Hysterectomy does not change AMH and FSH concentrations in 10 days after intervention. Salpingectomy decreased AMH concentration (p=0,004) and did not change FSH concentrations. Conclusion. Preventive salpingectomy decrease the total ovarian reserve parameters more than hysterectomy.
