Airway foreign bodies are encountered rather rarely in adults. Their predominant clinical symptoms include cough that is not relieved by anti-inflammatory drug treatment, which may in some cases be accompanied by hemoptysis, by directing the examination to the detection of pulmonary tuberculosis or lung cancer. The described clinical case demonstrates the possibilities of endoscopic diagnosis and endoscopic treatment in a patient with an X-ray negative foreign body (a bird bone) that has been long located in the lumen of the right lower lobe bronchus, which caused an inflammatory process in the blocked lobe and mimicked central lung cancer endoscopically and CT imaging.
