The paper analyzes world literature on tracheobronchoplastic surgery. It describes the history of formation and development of bronchoplastic operations in Russia and foreign countries. Special attention is paid to the technical aspects of the formation of interbronchial and tracheobronchial anastomoses. The structure of complications due to bronchoplastic surgery and pneumonectomy with tracheal bifurcation resection, their probable causes, and preventive methods are considered. The paper covers current trends in and prospects for the development of tracheobronchoplastic surgery.
