Abstract:

Based on the main indicators of cancer care to patients with malignant breast tumors in Russia in 2013—2014, the authors substantiate a need for active measures for early detection of the disease. The issues of breast cancer screening with mammography that is a basic technique for diagnosing the disease are discussed. Mammology screening within the framework of the state program for prophylactic medical examination of certain adult population groups, which was launched in 2013 at the level of primary health care, is shown to correspond with opportunistic screening. The identification of risk factors, the detection of evolving diseases, and the implementation of measures for their correction are a significant positive effect of prophylactic medical population.
