Abstract:

The author compared the possibilities of percutaneous thoracic ultrasound study and X-ray computed tomography in determining tumor invasion to the mediastinal organs and structure in lung cancer and mediastinal tumors. Analysis of the obtained results in 253 patients operated on for mediastinal (n=157; 62.05%) and lung (n=96; 37.95%) tumors showed the high efficiency of the ultrasound study in these patients.
