Abstract:

The paper describes a rare case of intussusception of the sigmoid prolapsing through the anal canal in a 64-year-old female patient. The cause of intussusception was a malignant tumor of the middle third of the sigmoid in the presence of dolichosigma. The patient was emergently operated on using obstructive sigmoid resection, which yielded a satisfactory result.
