Basic forms of inherited trombophilia, relevant coagulation genes and their polymorphisms as well as sequential algorithm of its genetic testing are briefly reviewed. The latter includes sample collection, DNA extraction, genetic analysis, results registration, their evaluation and recommendation to the patient. An example of genetic results interpretation by means of original method of unit - score is included
