BACKGROUND
Cutaneous melanoma ranks 15th among oncological diseases in the world, and the incidence has a tendency to rise. Active detection of the early stages of melanoma during medical check-ups is important for the favorable prognosis and survival of patients.
OBJECTIVE
To study the indicators of active detection of melanoma and skin cancer on the basis of statistical forms and to describe the clinical cases of late diagnosis of malignant skin neoplasms during medical examinations check-ups.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The study of forms of state statistical reporting, approved by order of Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) dated December 29, 2011 №520, annual reporting forms of reporting documentation No. 7 and 35 for the 15-year period (2007–2022 yrs.) in the Sverdlovsk Region. A number of clinical cases equal 3 observed among the patients of the SRDVD is given.
RESULTS
A low level of active identification of patients with malignant skin neoplasms was recorded for the period from 2007 to 2022 yrs. in the Sverdlovsk Region according to the obtained data. The median proportion of the indicator of active detection of melanoma and skin cancer patients was 25 and 28.7% from the number of identified in the reporting year, respectively. One of the causes for the low detectability of malignant skin neoplasms may be inadequate assessment of the professional factors’ (occupational carcinogens, occupational history) role in the etiology and pathogenesis of tumors development.
CONCLUSION
The development of unified recommendations on the detection and follow-up of patients from risk groups for the emergence of malignant skin neoplasms and the improvement of existing preventive measures aimed at their early diagnosis seem relevant.
