Abstract:

PROBLEM URGENCY

The increased interest in the epidemiological situation of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is due to unstable incidence rates, increased population migration and the spread of resistant infection pathogens’ forms.

Objective is to study the epidemiological situation of the incidence of sexually transmitted infections in the Russian Federation.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The object of the study was cases of diseases of sexually transmitted infections registered in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the basis of data from Federal statistical surveillance forms No. 9 for the period from 2014 to 2019. Intensive and extensive indicators of incidence were calculated and their analysis was presented using descriptive statistics.

RESULTS

An annual decrease in the incidence rate of sexually transmitted infections was established across the country as a whole, while in the context of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation there are multidirectional trends in the incidence rates for individual nosology forms of the disease.

CONCLUSION

The results of the study showed a continuing downward trend in almost all STIs in the country as a whole, however, instability of indicators in some subjects and growth in others indicates the need to develop new organizational forms of prevention of their spread.
