Abstract:

Currently, the most problematic situation for scabies still remains in Crimean, North Caucasian, and Far Eastern Federal Districts and in the following constituent entities of the Russian Federation: Chukotka Autonomous District, Sakhalin, Magadan, Kemerovo region, the Republic of Crimea, Stavropol, Perm, Altai territories, and Sevastopol. Relatively good situation is observed in the Republic of Kalmykia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Tyva, and Moscow. In general, during the analyzed period, the incidence of scabies in the country decreased by 70%, mainly due to lower incidence in the age group of children from 0 to 14 years, while in the group from 15 to 17 years it increased by a factor of 7.1. In the older age groups, incidence rate also increased: 5.6-fold in the age group 18 to 29 years, 1.7-fold in the age group 30 to 39 years, and almost twofold in the age group 40 years and older.
