Abstract:

The paper provides the review and our own observations on the use of different doses of isotretinoin in treatment of severe and torpid forms of acne. We emphasized the special role of information awareness of patients and doctors, who work in the allied health specialties, about retinoids to provide an adequate approach to therapy. Various algorithms of isotretinoin administration were discussed and recommendations of Russian and international experts are provided. Our own results show that long-term administration of isotretinoin is possible with stepwise dose reduction regimen, which prevents from negative effects of the therapy and increased duration of remission.
