Abstract:

The article provides the data on the current pathomorphism and clinical course of herpes zoster, a review of international approaches to treatment of this disease, and also the principles of rational causal treatment of the infection as exemplified by an antiviral drug, valacyclovir. The authors’ own data on the efficacy and safety of a drug, Valvir, in treatment of clinical manifestations of herpes zoster are provided.
