Abstract:

In 2012-2013, a multicenter trial of the incidence of superficial mycoses was conducted in outpatients when seeing a dermatologist. A total of 174 patients from 50 cities and towns of the Russian Federation participated in the survey. 5,025 questionnaires were analyzed. There was a preponderance of dermatophytosis (55.4%). The proportion of foot mycoses was 35.7%. Epidermophytosis showed 1.4-fold dominance over rubromycosis. The intertrigo form of foot epidermophytosis (41.2%) and the squamous-hyperkeratotic form of rubromycosis were prevalent. Minor onychomycosis was recorded in 25.2% of the patients. The hypertrophic type of onychomycosis was observed in one half of cases (51.8%) uniquely in the area of the little toe. The normotrophic type of onychomycosis was recorded in 48.2% of cases, more often in III-IV toes. Certaconazole (Zalain) cream was proved to have a high therapeutic efficacy in treating foot mycoses.
