The present comparative study of clinical efficacy and safety of Itraconazole and its combinations with hepatoprotectors involved 104 patients presenting with onychomycosis. The variables measured in the course of the study included the rate of regression of clinical symptoms and laboratory values and dynamics of blood biochemical parameters characterizing the hepatic function. The patients treated with Itraconazole in combination with silibinin showed somewhat milder symptoms of cytolytic syndrome compared with those given Itraconazole alone. The treatment with Itraconazole with taurine resulted in the complete elimination of biochemical signs of cytolitic syndrome.
