Abstract:

It was made the prospective comparative evaluation of the direct and immediate results of the operations with extracorporeal circulation. The operations were done in 52 infants and children, including 23 patients (main group) who used a new inotropic drug levosimendan and 29 patients (control group) who had traditional inotropic therapy. Groups did not differ significantly in the main preoperative parameters and conditions of the operations. It is revealed that the use of levosimendan can significantly reduce the dose and duration of use of traditional catecholamines in children with severe heart weakness. It is noted also a statistically significant improvement of myocardial contractility, lowering blood lactate, improved hemodynamic parameters and increase of mean arterial pressure.
